The match was brutal and intense. Marlington had six shots on goal and ten corner kicks. Alliance had a total of five keeper saves made by Trevor Strata, and two corner kicks.
Three minutes into the first half, Alliance's Lawyer Penird scored breaking through Marlington's backline.
To celebrate the goal, Penird runs up to the Marlington parents and fans, booing and motioning two thumbs down, followed by his teammates on the field. Another Aviator was red carded for starting the taunting instead of Penird. The red card was given because of excessive celebration and taunting. They played with one man down for the rest of the game.
The Dukes quickly started to compose and with thirteen minutes left in the first half, Mottice dribbles the ball up the middle of the field to find Sutton for the tying goal.
By the second half, Marlington started to play their game, being more collected. They gained back possession. Meanwhile, Alliance starts to play more defensibly.
Thirty- seven seconds left in the match, Marlington quickly set up for a corner, crossed in by Sutton. Morris was able to get a touch on the ball, hitting it into the goal, but was called a no goal and a foul on Marlington for tackling Alliance's goalkeeper, Strata.
Throughout the game, there were seven cards given between both teams.
Marlington and Alliance both tied for the EBC title.
