Marlington's Season Comes to an End

The Marlington girls soccer team faced the end of their season with a score of 2-4 against Norton on Monday, October 21st.


The Dukes were up against the number 1 seed while they were seed 4. Both teams were competing in the district semifinal.


The match quickly escalated with both teams applying pressure. Norton was able to score eleven minutes into the first half.


With fifteen minutes remaining, Marlington’s Calli Swisher was able to score, tying the match.


Norton soon broke the tie with a goal, four minutes into the second half. They soon added another point.


Ten minutes before the end of the match, Marlington’s Reilly Lutz was able to run through the Panther’s defense and score from a pass from Oliva Ryan.


Norton soon scored their final goal assuring their win for the night.


Marlington kept fighting but was not able to succeed over Norton. Marlington ended 9-8-1 for the season.
