Marlington Continues the Fight Against Childhood Cancers

Updated: Sep 4, 2019

Marlington and its community joins the St. Baldrick’s Foundation to bring awareness and support to the cause of fighting childhood cancer. This year, the district is holding several events to assist in the battle.

St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a Not-for-Profit organization that coordinates events throughout the country with local volunteers in each community. Their events are intended solely to raise money and awareness for the fight against childhood cancers. Teens Against Cancer, Interact and Character Counts, all Marlington clubs, are working with St. Baldrick’s to organize these events within our own community.

This week’s events consist of a chili cook-off, a bake sale, raffle baskets, as well as the sale of bracelets, t-shirts and a chance to make a half court shot at the basketball game against Minerva on February 15th. All proceeds collected at the events will go directly to St. Baldrick’s and the Team Trevor Foundation, a locally establishment that also contributes to the battle against childhood cancers.
