The Grand Duke is run by the Honors Newspaper and Journalism class at Marlington High School, and administered by Kaytlin McCoy.

Marlington Choir’s Mid-Winter Concert

This past Thursday, February 27th, the Marlington Choral Department held its mid-winter concert for the annual Music in Our Schools Month.


The Mixed Choir began the night with “Exultate”, followed by “Alleluia Fanfare”.

Shortly after, the Advanced Women’s Chorus took the stage to sing “Angus Dei”, featuring a small group consisting of Tatum Davis, Orah Green, Kaylee Jenkins, Mykah Kackley and Rebecca Milburn. The Chorus also sang “Sunayama” and “All the Way Home”.


Marlington’s Duke Street performed “Sunday Driver”, which had solos by Logan Waite, Evelyn Bullock, Aidan Comfort, Natalie DiRuzza. Michael Stauffer, Nick Kish, Catarina Hagan, Daniel Greco and Lilyan Ronske, followed by “Round Midnight”, with solos by Daniel Greco, Evelyn Bullock and Nick Kish.


Duchess Voices entertained the audience with their song “No More”, containing a solo by Ariana Painter, “Fly Away Birdie”, with solos by Alexa Walker, Lia Bench and Josilynn Scheible, and finally, “Leave (Get Out)”, having solos by Karina DeLeon, Emma Cleveland, Josilynn Scheible, and Cassia Comfort.


To finish the night, Marlington Chorale sang “O Magnum Mysterium” and “The Awakening”.

The next choir concert, the “Senior Showcase”, will be held on Thursday, May 21st at 7pm in the high school auditorium.


Marlington will also be performing “The Sound of Music” on March 20th, 21st, and 22nd, in the high school auditorium.
