Reminiscent of last year’s New Philadelphia competition, the band arrived in the rain, only for the weather to get worse as they warmed up and took the field to perform. With three bands having already dropped out due to poor weather, the Dukes were prepared for the worst.

The band presented their show “RGM” to the New Philadelphia judges, featuring soloists Chance Gaczkowski on Soprano Saxophone, Karina DeLeon on Marching French Horn and Breanna Baumgarten on Trumpet.

Competing in Class A against Louisville High School, Marlington placed 2nd and earned a Superior rating overall. Later on in the awards, Marlington was announced as one of the bands qualified for state finals.
