Marlington took on Louisville Tuesday night, January 21, losing to the leopards 59-40, bringing their season record to 7-7 and 5-2 in the EBC.

Senior guard, Andrew Pucci, led the Dukes with 15 points while senior post, Cameron Bennett followed closely behind with ten points for the night. Sophomore guard, Connor Evanich, added nine points for the night.

The Dukes came back in the third quarter, pushing Louisville to only a seven-point lead but could not keep up the intensity as Louisville ended the quarter 41-31.

As the fourth quarter commenced, the Dukes were forced into a zone defense to protect the key. With every quick pass and shot made, Louisville came back and scored two more.

Pucci and Bennett led the intensity of the Dukes by pressuring on defense and pushing the ball on offense.

Throughout the game, the Dukes played unselfishly on offense. They looked for the posts and inside jumpers rather than taking contested shots outside the three-point line.

Louisville caused 10 turnovers for the Dukes and outrebounded Marlington on the offensive and defensive boards.

Marlington plays again at home, Friday, January 24, in an EBC showdown against Carrollton.
