Homecoming Spirit Week

Marlington High school is having a “Spirit Week” from September 30th to October 4th to encourage school pride and excitement in preparation for Homecoming 2019. Every day is a new event, including a door decoration contest, hat day, support another sport day, color day, and cowboy day.

This week kicks off with the beginning of door decorations. The goal is to bedazzle the inside of the classroom door according to this year’s homecoming theme, ‘GloCo’. Every first-period class is to do what they can with this vague prompt, and the best door is to be judged on Friday, October 4th. The winning class’s prize is donuts, so competitiveness is at its peak.

On Tuesday, everyone is encouraged to wear hats, silly or normal.

On Wednesday, it is support another sport day. Represent your friend’s sport, or just wear sports attire. Science teacher Mrs. Francis expects that the most popular sports will be “either football or soccer.”

Thursday, October 3rd is color day. Show pride in your grade by wearing the specified colors: freshmen wear gray, sophomores wear white, juniors wear orange, and seniors wear black.

To end the week strong, Friday is cowboy day. Don your boots, flannels, and 10-gallon hats to create a memorable last day till Homecoming.
