Choir Begins Concert Season

The Marlington Choral Department began their performance season on Tuesday, November 5th in a fall-themed showcase at Marlington High School.

The evening began with Duke Street singing the Star-Spangled Banner, followed by an introduction by Choir Director Sam Alhadid. Mixed Choir then took the stage with “Pictures of Fall” and “Cantemos Alleluia”, a religious Latino song.

Next, Duchess Voices gained the spotlight, they sang “At the End of the Day”, featuring soloists Lia Bench, Cassia Comfort, Sophie Frase, and Hailey Confalone, and “Armor”, with solos by Tatum Davis, Karina DeLeon, Josilynn Scheible, and Ariana Painter.

After a short intermission and speech by Choir Booster President Sonja Greco, Advanced Women’s Chorus took the stage and performed “Dona Nobis Pacem”, Latin for “Grant Us Peace”, and “Omnia Vincit Amor”, Latin for “Love Conquers All”.

Duke Street soon stole the show with their songs “Like Someone in Love”, “Tenderly”, and “Ray’s Rockhouse”, featuring soloists Evelyn Bullock, Lilyan Ronske, Daniel Greco, Nicholas Kish, Rebecca Bixler, and Savannah Waffler.

Chorale took the stage after a short break and sang their final songs before the concert’s finale took place.

The evening drew to a close with the Grand Chorus singing Marlington’s Alma Mater, “Loyal and True”.

The choral department will be exhibiting their holiday concert on December 17th at 7:00 pm in the High School Auditorium.
