Bowling Recap: Week 11/18/19

The week of November 17th, Marlington boys and girls bowling took on three different schools; either leaving with success, or with the mindset of ‘we’ll get them next time.’ The teams from the week include the Alliance Aviators, Canton South Wildcats, and Dover Crimson Tornadoes.


On Monday November 18th, Marlington girls defeated Alliance 1883-1881, by just two pins ahead. The boys stayed consistent through the game but were no match for Alliance, ending with 2217-1281. Senior Mikayla Robinson had a high game of 202 and a high series of 370 for Marlington. Junior TJ Wilson lead the boys team with a high score of 167 and a high series of 308. Senior Devin White from Alliance bowled a 236 for the boys, and senior Casey Sauner a 189 for the girls.


The Dukes continued to carry their winning streak on November 20th against Canton South. The girls once again took the win by 184 pins: 1601-1417. The boys came close with the wildcats, but couldn’t tame them. Ending scores were 1886-1741. High game for the girls was senior Alex Lemaster with a 172 and high series of 298. Allison Barcus from Canton South bowled a 140 game and a 275 series. Sophomore Keegan Lambdin scored the highest game for the Dukes with a 165, while Hayden Sambroak had the highest series with a 284. Nick Fyffe led the Wildcats with a high game of 175 and Aaron Knop with a high series of 309.


With a 2-0 winning start, also came the Dukes’ downfall. On November 22nd, Marlington faced Dover with both the boys and girls ending in defeat. The girls lost by 361 pins, with a score of 2087-1726. High game for the Dukes was senior Kendra Mummert with a 178, as well as the highest series with a 304. Senior McKenna Marchand from Dover had a high game of 212 and a 381 series. The boys ended 2023-1768. Keegan Lambin ranked the highest game of 162 and high series of 300. Austin Orellana led the Tornadoes with a high game of 189, with Kaden Fleming and Jeff Linard tied for high series both with 341.


The Dukes travel to Minerva Lanes on Wednesday, December 4th to take on the Minerva Lions.
